Our most cost effective and long term solution. There's a reason why this repair option is our most popular. Crack injections provide customers with peace of mind knowing that the leak will be stopped in its tracks - for good. Often the best solution, is the simplest one!
Is this the right solution for you?
Crack injecting is the ideal solution for poured foundations and is often our first line approach to defending your basement from leaks. Unlike cinderblock or stone foundations, poured foundations are solid and have minimal intrusions throughout the foundation itself. This allows for our specialized resins to target areas with cracks and deficiencies effectively.
Crack injections are best suited for the following problems:
Crack injections do not work in the following circumstances:
Please note: accessibility to the problem area is essential.
How it works:
Our first step in repairing a crack with an injection, is locating the crack or deficiency within your foundation. Any drywall, paneling etc. will be removed to expose the entire problem area. From here, our skilled technicians will treat the crack and install injection hardware along the border of the crack. This step is followed by proper cleaning and flushing of the deficiency. Once the proper hardware has been installed, the crack has been properly treated and cleaned, a specialized cement is applied to the crack and the injection process begins.
Polyurethane is our most commonly used resin material. As the injection commences, the water reactive resin will be pumped throughout the crack or treated area. As this resin travels throughout the crack it will expand and react with any remaining moisture in the wall. This ensures full coverage and minimizes any risk of a re-leak. Over the course of 24-48 hours, this resin will harden into a strong yet flexible material that will effectively protect your home from leaks season after season.
Care and maintenance:
Two of the biggest benefits of crack injections are that they are virtually maintenance free and any interior repairs (i.e. drywalling) can commence immediately.
It is extremely important that any hardware that has been installed in your wall is free from being tampered with. This hardware holds the resin within your foundation and removing it will allow the sealing resin to escape the area it is treating. Covering hardware with appropriate interior construction materials is perfectly fine and repairs should pose no issue in refinishing the area in question.
